Lagavulin 16 Year Old is the definitive Islay single malt Scotch whisky, celebrated worldwide for its intense peat smoke, deep complexity, and rich peatiness. Distilled in the historic south coast distillery of Islay established in 1816, it is aged for at least sixteen years in oak casks. It pours a deep, glowing amber color. The nose is incredibly robust, presenting peat smoke with iodine, seaweed, and a rich, sweet fruitiness. On the palate, it is full-bodied and intense, unfolding with sweet peat, dry wood smoke, rich malt, and a sophisticated seaweed salinity, leading into a spectacularly long, warming peat finish with subtle sweet oak notes.
